The origin of Saint-Gobain Group goes back to the founding in France of the Manufacture Royale des Glaces de Miroirs (Royal Mirror Glass Works) created by Jean-Baptiste Colbert, minister of French King Louis XIV in 1665.  One of the company’s first commissions was to produce glass for the famous “Hall of Mirrors” at the Palace of Versailles.  Saint-Gobain headquarter is in Paris, ranks among the world’s top hundred Industrial corporations, operates in 66 countries, 170,000 employees, and generates over €39.6 billion annual sales.
